The big claim to fame for Windows 2.0, however, was that it came bundled with Microsoft's Word and Excel applications. Word and Excel were graphical apps competing against the text-based interfaces of then-reigning competitors WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3; the Microsoft apps needed a GUI shell to run properly, hence the bundling with Windows. USB 3.0 was launched back in 2008. This new edition has more functions and better features included in the port. Although it looks just like a simple data cable port, it actually makes a lot more things run in the background. USB 3.0 started getting popular right after the launch. Mainly laptop manufacturers acquired this technology to provide more speed.
Difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0
The most notable difference is speed. USB 3.0 can transfer data at up to 625MBps. However, you can find ten times less speed while using USB 2.0. But, the problem is that it depends on the data cable that you are using and the device where you are transferring your data. Another difference is related to power usage. USB 2.0 can consume up to 500 mA power when USB 3.0 can consume up to 900 mA power.
Identify USB 3.0 Port on Laptop
If you purchased a new laptop and you do not have much technical knowledge, how can you identify the USB 3.0 port on your device, so that you get better speeds when you copy or move data?
To make use of USB 3.0, you should identify the USB 3.0 port on your laptop. Generally, most of the Windows laptops come with one USB 3.0 port and one or two USB 2.0 ports.
Check if your laptop has a USB 3.0 Port
The very first thing that you should confirm whether you have USB 3.0 port or not. For that, open Device Manager. You can either go to Control Panel and select the Device Manager option, or you can search for it via Taskbar Search Box. You ca also open it via the WinX menu.
In Device Manager, you will see Universal Serial BUS Controllers or USB controllers. Expand the menu. Here, you should get USB 3.0 mentioned in the list of USB related entries.
If you have found such a thing, read the following guide. Otherwise, there is no need to follow the following guide.
If your device supports USB 3.0, you can identify the port this way:
1: Check the Logo
USB 3.0 is also used as SuperSpeed USB. Generally, laptop manufacturers use the SuperSpeed USB logo to differentiate the port. You can find the ss mark along with the USB logo, which looks something like the following image:
2: Port Color
If the laptop manufacturer follows the official guidelines, then the USB 3.0 port should have blue color inside the port whereas USB 2.0 has either black or white inside the port. It can happen with both the ‘male’ as well as the ‘female’ port.
Hope this helps you identify USB 3.0 port. Use it to get better speeds when copying or moving data.

The boot logo I'm talking about is the light blue Windows icon above the dots that indicate it's loading. I don't think it's a manufactures logo, I don't really know what that is. I am not talking about the lock screen.

Hello John,
Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community.
From the description provided, I understand that you want to change the Windows logo in the boot screen outlay.
Please be informed that the feature to change the boot logo with a custom image of your choice is not available.
The booting session is not advisable to be altered, as because this is a process during which Windows is loading the required system files to get the operating system up and running. So any changes may adversely affect the boot of the operating system itself.
Hope the above information is helpful. If you need further assistance, we would be happy to help you.
Thank you.

Yes, how do those OEM's do it?
It seems like it should just be a PNG replacement, or registry equivalent, but I didn't design Windows. :-D

Well Mystic Taz I Might Be able to answer that Question as to why Those Boot Loading Icons are Different than the default windows 10 Image. The reason why is Because Manufacturers Like Dell, HP, ETC will hard Code Those different boot icon images Directly into the Computers BIOS itself.
So they don't actually Edit The OS's Boot Logo Image/Registry They Just embed the image they want to appear Into the BIOS of the Computer so that the Windows OS will display the Hard Coded Image(aka the companys logo) By Default, rather than loading the basic windows 10 Blue Logo.
And If any thoughts of editing your computers BIOS are running through your mind right now, let me Highly Advise against it Because Editing Your BIOS can literally Make Your Computers Hardware Unusable.
So I recommend Writing to Microsoft and kindly asking for them Make a customization for this feature of windows.
With Best Regards,Dalton..

I figured it out.
I have a nice ASUS motherboard (P8Z77-V LX) where I can upload my own logo and did.
It would have been nice is Microsoft did like back in the Windows 95 and 98 days, just add a Logo.sys.

Good I'm so Glad You Figured Out How to Change it, I wish I could change Mine But my Motherboard is a bit older so It doesn't have that function.
But I totally agree with you on the Logo.sys Method on the older windows OS's, at least it allowed people to customize There OS. Even Though Windows Has Come a long ways since the 95 Days They have gotten rid of some pretty nice features along the way.
Good Job, And with Best Regards,Dalton..
